Liferay Portal 5.1.2 *Training is conducted on the latest stable version of Liferay.
Overview Liferay Training is designed to help you come up to speed on the functionality and development of Liferay Portal. It will help to increase your productivity as well as introduce you to valuable new features.
Developers are responsible for creating custom portlets based on business requirements. Participants will learn how to create custom plugins that can create, update and delete records from the database as well as implement permissions for their portlet. We’ll also cover how to extend Liferay’s core portlets and how to customize the portal.
Lab-Based Training The course is separated into short modules of lecture followed by labs. Complex topics are broken down into smaller, more manageable sections that allow you to learn the material more quickly.
Subject Matter Experts The course will be led by Triton, Inc. Our trainers work with Liferay Portal day in and day out and have the best knowledge of the latest features.
Development Environment Although Liferay runs on almost any server and database, we will be using Tomcat and MySQL because this is the fastest setup for development. We may also touch upon installation with other application servers and databases as well.
Requirements Basic knowledge of Java and Servlets is required.
A laptop with Windows XP and a wireless card is required. - Recommended system requirements: 2.0Ghz Core Duo, 2GB RAM
