Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Shore Based Trainer (SBT) San Diego, CA
Billet Description
This individual shall be a part of a multi instructor/maintainer workforce providing maintenance support for the LCS-1 and LCS-2 trainers at the LCS SBT. They will report to the Lockheed Martin MS2 Lead Contractor Instructor and coordinate their activities with the Lead Contractor Maintainer. This individual will maintain and administer tactical training equipment and simulation computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary, and articulate complex technical and tactical issues in a clear, concise, understandable manner in verbal and written formats. This individual must possess a minimum of four (4) years experience in the maintenance and operation of Surface Combat Systems on Aegis or SSDS equipped ships. In addition, they must qualify as an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 within one year of employment.
As a member of the LCS SBT Maintenance Staff this individual shall support the following:
- Maintenance and operation of the Training Devices installed at the LCS SBT including LCS-1 and LCS-2 Combat Management Systems, Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M), Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS) and Multi Link Interface Unit (MLIU).
- Maintenance and operation of the Simulation Systems (SIM) installed at the LCS SBT including Vship 2000 Bridge and Navigation Simulator, Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF), Open Architecture Simulation System (OASIS), Multi Link Simulation Training Test Tool (MLST3), Buffalo Computer Graphics.
- Performing and documenting corrective and preventative maintenance actions on Training Devices and SIM systems.
- Implementing Information Assurance policies and procedures.
- Supporting staff instructor with subject matter expertise for curriculum development and operation of the Training Device and SIM systems.
